Michelle Clayton, ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP, conducts metabolic testing and muscle function assessments at a university performance laboratory in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She also writes for Biology Insights. Clayton completed an undergraduate degree in kinesiology and earned a master of science in exercise physiology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her laboratory responsibilities center on evaluating aerobic efficiency and muscular output for both student athletes and research subjects undergoing physical conditioning trials.
