George P. Davis

A coastal geologist with a state geological survey coastal program, George P. Davis monitors sea-level rise along shoreline communities. He spent years aboard survey vessels mapping coastal margins, then turned his attention to long-term water level monitoring. His work examines ocean circulation, sea level fluctuations, and coastal erosion. Davis received a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of South Alabama and a master’s in marine geology from the University of California, San Diego.
