Denise Schwartz is an environmental microbiologist at a state regulatory laboratory. She processes soil and water samples to assess microbial contamination and monitors bacterial strains used in environmental cleanup. Schwartz earned a master’s degree in environmental microbiology from Oregon State University following undergraduate studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and plays acoustic guitar in her spare time.
