Cynthia Petersen is a cardiac telemetry nurse on a hospital step-down floor. For 14 years she has monitored central telemetry screens and interpreted abnormal rhythms, often training recent nursing graduates on bedside recognition of cardiac changes. Petersen started her career on general medical wards and later attended the University of South Carolina, where she received her bachelor of science in nursing.
