Amanda Sexton, RN, works as a staff nurse at an urgent care clinic. She writes about recovery from common illnesses and proper hydration. On every shift, Sexton sends patients home with practical guidance for managing flu symptoms and stomach bugs. Before moving to outpatient urgent care, she spent five years working in hospital emergency departments. During those years in emergency medicine, she provided acute bedside care, administered fluids, and evaluated patients with severe dehydration.
