Alejandro Walsh works as an apiary inspector for a state department of agriculture. He travels throughout his region to inspect hundreds of honey bee colonies each year, monitoring managed hives for foulbrood, mites, and other destructive pests. Walsh managed commercial apiaries before taking his position with the state, directing brood maintenance and seasonal honey production across migratory yards. He also contributes articles on honey bee biology to Biology Insights.
