Understanding the Causes of Brown Tips
Aglaonema plants frequently exhibit browning on their leaf tips. Brown leaf tips often indicate environmental stress or improper care, and identifying the cause is key to restoring plant health.
Insufficient soil moisture leads to brown tips as the plant struggles to transport water to its extremities. When roots cannot absorb enough water, older leaf tips dry out and become crispy, often due to the soil drying out completely.

Increase ambient humidity to prevent leaf tip desiccation. Place the plant on a pebble tray with water, ensuring the pot does not sit directly in it, or use a small room humidifier.
Manage fertilizer use to prevent salt buildup and chemical burns. Fertilize sparingly, every two to three months during the growing season with a diluted liquid fertilizer, and periodically flush the soil to wash away excess salts.
Improve water quality to alleviate brown tips from chemical sensitivities. Use filtered or distilled water, or allow tap water to sit for 24 hours to dissipate chlorine.
