Phosphorus is fundamental to adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the molecule that stores and transfers energy within plant cells. Calcium is the other major nutrient supplied by bone meal, maintaining the structural integrity of the plant. It helps build strong cell walls, leading to sturdier growth in stems and roots.
