This slow and continuous deposition occurs layer by layer, leading to the gradual growth of tiny, spherical chalcedony aggregates.

The presence of trace elements like manganese within these hydrothermal fluids is responsible for imparting the distinctive purple coloration seen in many grape agate specimens.
