The blobfish, scientifically known as Psychrolutes marcidus, is known for its distinctive appearance, especially when brought from its deep-sea habitat to the surface. This unique deep-sea fish inhabits the immense pressures of the ocean floor, typically ranging from 600 to 1,200 meters (2,000 to 3,900 feet) below the surface.
