Their tusks, elongated incisor teeth, serve multiple purposes. Elephants use their tusks to debark trees and for digging into the ground to access roots, bulbs, or mineral deposits. Inside their mouths, specialized molars are designed for grinding tough plant material. Elephants possess six sets of these molars throughout their lifespan, with old sets wearing down and new ones pushing forward from behind to replace them.
