Native to the riverbanks of Madagascar, this species naturally thrives in consistently moist soil and high atmospheric humidity. This preference for a wet, tropical habitat is why the majesty palm has a reputation for being a challenging houseplant. Successfully maintaining this palm requires closely mimicking its native environmental conditions.
