Popular culture frequently presents a version differing significantly from scientific findings. While its name, “swift seizer,” aptly describes its predatory nature, its actual dimensions often surprise people. The filmmakers based the size and proportions of their “Velociraptors” on a different, larger dromaeosaurid dinosaur: Deinonychus antirrhopus. Deinonychus was a more imposing predator, capable of growing over 2 meters tall and over 3 meters long.
