Scientists have undertaken multiple expeditions to confirm measurements and collect samples from these record-breaking specimens. These exceptionally tall trees store substantial amounts of carbon, with a single Angelim Vermelho capable of sequestering as much carbon as 500 smaller trees, highlighting their importance in global carbon cycles.
