Gorillas have a muscle composition dominated by fast-twitch fibers, which are specialized for short, explosive bursts of power. This allows them to exert immense force rapidly. Their herbivorous diet, consisting primarily of leaves, stems, fruits, and shoots, provides the necessary nutrients to support this muscle development. Strength in the Wild: Purpose and Behavior
