The primary challenge is balancing the plant’s high demand with the risk of waterlogging the roots. Establishing the Optimal Watering Routine

The most effective watering strategy involves thoroughly saturating the soil until water flows freely out of the container’s drainage holes. This deep soaking ensures the entire root ball receives moisture, preventing dry pockets from forming within the dense root structure. This technique is more effective than frequent, shallow sprinklings which only wet the surface layer.

Determining when to water should rely on a physical check of the soil rather than a fixed calendar schedule. High temperatures and direct sunlight dramatically increase the rate of transpiration (water evaporation from the leaves).
