Sea turtles also exhibit extended lifespans; green sea turtles commonly live 50 to 70 years or more, and loggerhead sea turtles typically live 47 to 67 years, with estimates suggesting they can reach up to 80 to 100 years.
Tortoises, which are terrestrial turtles, are particularly known for their long lives. Common pet tortoises like Russian tortoises can live 40 to 60 years in captivity, with some living up to 100 years, especially in the wild or with exceptional care. Sulcata tortoises, another large land species, have reported lifespans of 50 to 150 years, with a minimum of 50 to 70 years when kept in captivity.

Jonathan, a Seychelles giant tortoise, a subspecies of the Aldabra giant tortoise, is considered the oldest known living land animal. Another Aldabra tortoise named Adwaita reputedly lived for 255 years.
