Queen bees, the reproductive center of the colony, are generally heavier than worker bees. Their weight can range from approximately 145 mg to 292 mg. Drones, the male bees, also tend to be larger than worker bees, with weights typically falling between 190 mg and 290 mg. The weight differences among these castes reflect their distinct biological functions.

What Makes a Bee’s Weight Change?
