The low-pressure ammonia vapor then enters a compressor, which mechanically increases its pressure and temperature. The hot, high-pressure ammonia gas moves to the condenser, releasing absorbed heat and heat from compression.

In the condenser, the ammonia gas cools and condenses back into a high-pressure liquid, rejecting heat to an external cooling medium like air or water. This liquid then passes through an expansion valve, which rapidly reduces its pressure and temperature. The cooled, low-pressure mixture returns to the evaporator, completing the cycle for continuous heat absorption.
