These large marine stingrays are observed in the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific, with southern Mozambique being a notable location for regular sightings. Another substantial marine species is the Short-tail Stingray (Dasyatis brevicaudata), which can measure up to 2.1 meters (7 feet) across and 4.3 meters (14 feet) in total length, weighing over 350 kilograms (772 pounds).
