Hygiene is another paramount safety factor when using a cool-mist humidifier, requiring the water tank to be cleaned daily to prevent the growth of mold, bacteria, and fungi. Furthermore, humidity levels should be monitored, ideally staying between 40% and 50% relative humidity, as levels exceeding 60% can promote the growth of mold and mildew on surfaces within the room.
