This comprehensive HRT requires careful monitoring by endocrinologists, involving regular blood tests to ensure hormone levels remain within a healthy range and to adjust dosages as needed. Patients must learn “stress dosing” protocols for hydrocortisone, increasing their medication during periods of illness, injury, or surgery to prevent adrenal crisis.
