Mulching
Shredded plant material, such as leaves and small branches, makes effective mulch. Applying a layer around plants conserves soil moisture, suppresses weeds, and moderates soil temperature. As the organic material breaks down, it slowly releases nutrients back into the soil, enhancing fertility.

Burning plant waste has limitations. Legality varies by region due to air quality concerns, and it poses risks of fires and respiratory issues. Consider burning only as a last resort, if permitted, and with strict safety precautions. Landfilling plant waste is also less desirable due to its environmental impact.
