Are Whippoorwills Endangered? Their Status Explained

Whippoorwills, known for their distinctive nocturnal calls, are an iconic presence in North American woodlands. These medium-sized birds, often heard but rarely seen due to their camouflaged plumage, are aerial insectivores, capturing insects in flight.
