His Journey in Football

Goretzka’s football journey began at a young age, joining Werner SV 06 Bochum in 1999 before moving to VfL Bochum in 2001. He made his professional debut for VfL Bochum in the 2. Bundesliga in 2012. In his season with Bochum’s first team, he played 32 league games, scored four goals, and helped the team avoid relegation.

His performances attracted attention from larger clubs. In 2013, he transferred to Schalke 04, signing a five-year contract.
