Another widely recognized type is the Saucer Magnolia (Magnolia × soulangeana), a deciduous tree known for its early spring display. Its large, cup-shaped flowers, 4 to 8 inches across, appear on bare branches before the leaves emerge. These blooms showcase various shades of white, pink, and maroon, often with petals darker on the outside and lighter on the inside.
