Over-the-counter pain relievers can help manage discomfort.
For larger or more complex groin hematomas, medical interventions may be necessary. If the hematoma is causing significant pressure or is very large, a healthcare provider might perform aspiration, which involves draining the accumulated blood using a needle. Surgical evacuation may be required to remove the blood clot and address the source of bleeding if the hematoma is expanding, infected, or compressing nerves or blood vessels.
