Feathers are a valuable resource within the farming simulation game, Sun Haven. This material serves various purposes, from crafting essential gear to fulfilling specific in-game requirements. Understanding how to acquire and utilize feathers efficiently can significantly aid progression in the game world.
How to Get Feathers
Acquiring feathers in Sun Haven primarily involves raising specific farm animals. The main source of feathers is the Baby Griffon, a barn animal players can obtain. These creatures are not found randomly in the wild, but rather are purchased and then cared for on a player’s farm. To begin this process, players must first gain access to Nel’Vari, a hidden elven city located west of the main farm. This involves progressing through the game’s story quests until Elios the Sun Dragon directs players to visit the city.
Upon reaching Nel’Vari, players should proceed north to find Fonzo near the mounts store. Baby Griffons can be purchased from his animal pens for 100 Mana Orbs. Mana Orbs are readily available by harvesting glowing trees or clearing weeds. Once acquired, Baby Griffons can be placed inside a barn. Daily interaction with these Baby Griffons, including feeding them, allows players to collect one or two feathers; implementing feeding stations and an automatic feeder can streamline the care process. While some older information might suggest hunting birds for feathers, current game versions indicate Baby Griffons as the singular source for regular feathers.
What Feathers Are Used For
Feathers in Sun Haven are integral components in various crafting recipes, particularly for defensive gear. One of their prominent uses is in creating pieces of the Aerodynamic Armor set, which includes the Aerodynamic Chest Plate, Helmet, and Plate Legs. For example, crafting an Aerodynamic Chest Plate requires six feathers along with six pieces of fabric. The Aerodynamic Helmet needs three feathers and three fabric, while the Aerodynamic Plate Legs use five feathers and five fabric. This armor set is beneficial for players engaging in higher-level adventuring, offering protective qualities suitable for combat scenarios.
Beyond armor, feathers also contribute to crafting the Aerodynamic Wings, which require four feathers and four fabric. These items are crafted at an Anvil. Feathers are categorized as barn animal produce and can be sold for a base value of 7 Mana Orbs each. While they serve as crafting materials for specific items, they are not currently listed as ingredients for cooking recipes or required for specific quests.
Feather Types and Importance
In Sun Haven, there are distinct types of feathers, with the primary one being the standard “Feather” obtained from Baby Griffons. A more valuable variant is the “Golden Feather.” Golden Feathers are a special version of the regular feather, commanding a higher sell price. They can be acquired in two ways: either by raising the affection of Baby Griffons, particularly if players have invested in the “Golden Heart” skill within the farming skill tree, or through Golden Trees, which have a chance to produce various golden items, including Golden Feathers. Golden Feathers are used in crafting the Golden Feather Winged Cape, which requires three Golden Feathers and twelve regular Feathers.
Another distinct item is the “Phoenix Feather,” which is not a crafting material but a quest item primarily associated with museum bundles. Phoenix Feathers are acquired through exploration and foraging, often dropping when interacting with trees across different regions. The regular Feather’s importance is most pronounced in early to mid-game progression, serving as a building block for beneficial armor and equipment.
