The leaves are aromatic when bruised and the entire plant is covered in fine, silky white hairs. Small, inconspicuous yellowish-gray or yellow flowers emerge in dense clusters at the stem ends, blooming from late summer into late fall.
This plant is native to a broad region of North America, from Canada through the United States and into Mexico.
