Do Decongestants Help with Ear Infections

If a bacterial infection is suspected or symptoms are severe, persistent, or worsening, a healthcare professional may prescribe antibiotics. Complete the full course of antibiotics as prescribed, even if symptoms improve quickly, to ensure the infection is fully eradicated. If symptoms do not improve within a few days, or if there is high fever, fluid draining from the ear, or severe pain, seek medical attention.
